Part ELEVEN = Convergence.
Okay let's do an overview of the time of 200,000 BC to the current time.
People started communicating by telling each other stories around the campfire, with no technology, just basic communication.
Empires over time have come and gone...
Even though we are very early into this century, various strands of technology are starting to converge into single devices. Take an average mobile phone for example. Initially just that, a phone that was mobile enough to carry around to use. Now, a lot of models have the phone; a camera; a radio; an mp3 player; texting and messaging facilities; the internet etc etc etc.
We have had the Futurism movement in the past and it seems to be reappearing again. For it is hard to imagine what the future and technology, in just a few more years, will give us.
We only have to look at both some of the earlier as well as the later episodes of Star Trek, to see how much of the programme has started to materialise. They had flatter screens on board their spaceship. They had hand held devices to communicate with each other. They also had thin screened devices to read and add information to. Are these not our current TV's, mobiles and tablet computer devises?
Why not try and think what your future would hold by doing a drawing or illustration of it and keep it safe. Then in 5 to 10 years, take it out and see how good you were at predicting the future of technology?
